Fiction.

While there are pressure points and nerve clusters that can cause pain, and there are freak occurances that can occur and cause sustainable damage, the "deadly" Chinese secret stuff is mostly fiction.

Don't trust someone's word for, trust the sheer amount of evidence against it. Why is there no stories about some Dim mak practitioner disabling a would be attacker? Why no accidental deaths from a Martial Artist who just lost control, but yet a dozen stories or so a year about Martial Artists being killed by a random thug with a gun or knife.

Show me one actual factual evidence. Check out guys like James Rhandi who has spent his lifetime debunking guys like this.

Check out http://www.bullshido.com where they have numerous videos of "Chi masters" getting worked over by amateur level fighters.

Find medical evidence stating conclusive evidence of acupuncture and acupressure working beyond that of a placebo effect.

In short, it is fiction, part of the mysticism brought over to help sell Martial Arts, and part of Asian mythology.

Just my two cents, I am sure there are many convinved otherwise. However I have been subject to many such "Dim Mak" strikes from Wing Chun, and Shaolin practitioners while testing each other and seeing weaknesses in our techniques or forms. (Me doing MMA, etc, them seeing how they would try to counter chokes, arm bars, being mounted, etc.)

I can tell you with all certainity, my organs, neverous system, are all completely in..........t.....a......c.....t....arrrrrrrgghhhh.... what is happening to me......owwwww.......oh no........my spleen.... they....were....rrrrriiiiggghhhhttt.....

Anyways, it's all BS. Nothing more factual than Tarot cards, John Edward, and no touch knockouts.

Just my opinion, gained after a ton of research after spending some of my youth in ninjitsu. A lifetime of experience, and a ton of Martial Arts.
