Your Unknown Glashutte

I think most of you know about the top brand of watches, Glashutte. While we refer to some details, some of you may be unclear. Therefore, I limited my topic on the unknown Glashutte.

Pano Retro Graph

Self-producing movement is the tradition of Glashutte watch-making craftsmanship, which could be an absolute advantage in current competitive watches field. And the reciprocal chronograph nature of Pano Retro Graph is rarely seen in recent years, really a surprising creation. The first watch of Pano Date Series was launched in 2001, namely, the Pano Retro Graph, ever to be a shock in watches field. It’s the world’s first wristwatch with the reciprocal chronograph function of 30 minutes. The fan-shaped reciprocal timer at the top right corner is made up of three small independent seconds, using the slipping method for reciprocal timing by changing the seconds. Pano Retro Graph can easily execute the reciprocal function in top complicated mechanism only by the watch crown and the button at the position of 10 o’clock.

Glashutte is a German brand with its town in the Muglitz Valley between the northeastern German and Czech frontier. The early villagers lived on silver ore exploring. The original meaning of Glashutte in German language is shining metallic house. As the decrease of silver ore, poorness ensued. The villagers had no idea but ask help from the Sachsen Government by group. A local watch master established the first watch workshop called A. Lange&Cie by the fund of the government and began to train the silver ore exploring workers and farmers into watches making. Its original purpose was to help the unemployed miners successfully change their living skills, unexpectedly found the key town of German Watches Industry.

After the World War II, the eastern Germany formed the Glashutte State-owned Enterprise by merging seven watches factories of Glashutte. In the following decades, Glashutte was almost isolated with the western world. There were 2000 employees in the enterprise with the main purpose to produce one hundred thousand watches of simplicity and practical use for the Eastern European Group. After the combination of eastern and western Germany, This State-owned Enterprise changed the name to Glashutte Uhrenbetried GMBH ?GUB?, and took over the watch company of Eastern Germany under which there are two brands called Glashutte Original and Union Glashutte.

In order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Glashutte, Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon Julius Assmann1 in limited edition of 25 pieces is launched to show the respect for one of the famous watch masters in Glashutte watch-making history. With sophisticated functions, this kind of watch with unique design can be used as the pocket watch as well as the wristwatch with special leather strap. Julius Assmann1 is a surprising launching. The global watch fans are immediately fascinated by such kind of style. In a sudden, the reputation of Glashutte Original is known to all, making it return the rare manufacturers of real watches making.
