In a time of scientific evolution and mechanical approach of so many daily aspects of life, a need for self stimulation of mind and body emerges. Amongst all the fast-moving means of conveyance, the eternal rapidity, the lack of spare time and the stress caused by it, people need to find an oasis of energy and freedom of mind and spirit.
One can choose to enjoy a book that he/ she has been lusting for a long time, or can relax by listening to music or cooking a nice dinner for friends. Nevertheless, a certain activity can bolster the entire human being and create one kind of irreplaceable satisfaction: sports. Outdoor activities can range from less energetic to overwhelming physique demanding. It is not uncommon for people to give up while facing this kind of physique activity. This is the reason why motivation is a primary ingredient.
The resources that sports can provide for are most desirable, but it also takes strong self motivation in order to achieve them. It can emerge easily by following a few basic steps that are not to fail. Keep your motivation updated and strong while facing any red juicy apples.
First of all, whenever you feel ready and lusting for a race, sing up. Do not postpone for later on when you have fewer more important things to do. Prepare yourself. Acknowledge that things will get harder along the way which is only natural, especially if you are a freshman. You may want to find a running partner. It will be much more difficult to skip runs when someone is depending on you. If your partner is committed, he will be the one grabbing you and putting you in your running shoes. The word “never” should not even exist. Make sure you neutralize it and kick it out of your lexicon.
Focus on yourself. Mark your challenges. Listen to your body and only focus on your body language. Attention to other faster runners may hijack you and make you lose focus.
Do not forget it will not be easy. You have to find your pace and gradually train your body. Although it will be hard at the beginning, you will feel at ease once your training is beyond basic. Try listening to music, but if you feel you are more learning lyrics than analyze your feet strikes, you better leave it at home.
Weight loss will come, if that is one of your goals, just not instantly.
If you are the literary type, write about what you are experiencing. Who said motivation cannot be cathartic also? Do not think too much about training, about running, about difficulties yet to come. Take it one step at the time. But take action, do not procrastinate. A bad run is more desirable than no run.
It is always easier to plead for a comfortable chair or couch, a fresh drink and a good French croissant, a good book or an interesting documentary upon the latest astronomical discoveries. Indeed it is known that knowledge is power, but it can be even more efficiently assimilated within a healthy energetic body.
In other words, run for your body. Your brain will love that. After that, your fresh drink will be even more pleasant.
