New running shoes make the outsides of my feet hurt?
I just bought new running shoes over the weekend, Saucony ProGrid Omni 7's. I went to a professional running store where they evaluated my gait and made sure the shoes fit properly and all of that.
Today I tried my new shoes out on an indoor track for about 20mins, and discovered that they make the outside edges of my feet hurt. Does this mean that they don't fit properly, or do they just need to be broken in? The salesperson at the store discovered that I overpronate slightly in my left foot, so these shoes are more stable than my old ones were - am I just not used to a more rigid shoe?
Any advice from experienced running shoe buyers would be very much appreciated!
The running store has a 30 day return policy, so if necessary I can return them and get a better size or a different shoe.
If i was you I would go out and run about a 5k and if they are still hurting your feet then I would say go back and get a different pair. I have ran 3 marathons, and I have tried all sorts of different shoes for my training and I have found that asics and spira (which is a relatively new brand) are the best shoes for running.
