Protein Shake?

I'm 16 yrs old, 6'2 and 154lbs. I'm a swimmer, competing at a national level in sprint events. I have a fairly intense training programme, with 8/9 2hour swim sessions a week with 5weight sessions. I try and eat a fairly balanced diet, but often find it hard to eat as well as i think i should be.

I have previously been drinking whole eggs, sometimes mixed with milk, as my source for protein to try increase recovery time for my muscles and to help them bulk up a bit. Would it be worth me buying and taking "professional" protein shakes? If so how much should I be taking a day to get optimum muscle recovery

Thanks in advance

I think you should take a protein shake after you work out. You should be getting around 1gram of protein per pound of body weight. So you should get around 150grams of protein a day. Even if you get 100grams a day that will suffice.
Take two scoops of whey protein mixed with a banana and milk(or water) after your workout, that's what I take because I don't feel like cooking and it rejuvenates your body after a long hard workout.
